Cybersquatters Be Aware
It has come to my attention that a number of websites have been cybersquatting on our good name, Hawaiian Island Weddings.. I will not mention the websites here as it may be part of a lawsuit later. What is cybersquatting you may ask? Cybersquatting is when a person or company purchases a domain name that is identical or confusingly similar to another's trade name or corporate name in bad faith with intent to profit.
Example: Let's say you want to sell a carbonated beverage and you call it "Cokes", so you get a web domain cokes.com - you are a cybersquatter. The name you have chosen is identical or very similar to the Coca Cola Company's domain www.coke.com, you will be sued and will loose rights to that name. It's really that simple.
It doesn't matter if you use a .com, .net, .info, .org, .us, .tv or any other DOT for that matter. If you use the same or almost the same name as someone else who registered it before you, whos name it is, you are cybersquatting.
Be it known that, unless you registered a domain name similar to ours prior to 3/2000, you are using our good name in "bad faith" and our lawyers will be sending you a letter soon.
